Once the screws holding the panel are loosened, you can proceed by removing the panel and locating the muffler underneath. The muffler must be freed from its housing by loosening the screws and expanding the ring that connects it to the exhaust manifold; this way you can reattach the muffler to its supports by reinserting the side panel.
