This guide shows how to replace the Land Rover Discovery Sport Mk5 power tailgate hydraulic piston. As a first step, after having locked the hatch in the open position, detach the fixing clip of the piston end using a slotted screwdriver. Remove the plastic handle cover with a plastic lifter; unscrew the two 8 mm bolts. With the plastic lifter, detach the inner panel of the door in order to have more working space in the area of the electrical connectors. Disconnect the piston electrical connectors and remove the cables. Install the new piston in place and connect the cable. Put everything back in place and check the correct functioning of the rear hatch.

In order to replace the auxiliary battery of the Land Rover Evoque, it is necessary to go inside the passenger compartment and remove the panel which is positioned immediately under the glovebox.
