Through this short video tutorial we can see the steps necessary to replace the tailgate pistons on a third generation Opel Astra SW, model produced from 2004 to 2011. First we have to open the rear trunk completely of the vehicle, then we use a slotted screwdriver to blow out the two piston seal rings, one located in its lower part and the other in its upper part. Once this is done, we can remove the old piston and replace it with a new one, finally we repeat the same operation on the other piston to finish the job.
