Today with the help of this short video, we will illustrate the steps used to replace the gear shift boot of an Opel Astra. We will start by removing the old boot, to do this we will need to insert a flathead screwdriver into the plastic part of the gear shift in order to completely extract the boot. Then we will need to remove the gear shift and the knob by using the screwdriver to pry it off. Once it is dislodged, we can insert the new boot onto the gear shift and then the knob. Finally, we can place the boot back into its housing. To replace the handbrake boot, we will need to remove the outer part of the lower dashboard located under the gear shift and then pull off the entire boot, dislodging it, and finally install the new one, as shown in the video.
