In this video, we can see how to deactivate the i-stop function on a Mazda. The i-stop function is the same as the "Start & Stop" function on other cars and it is used to improve fuel efficiency by turning off the engine when the vehicle comes to a complete stop, but the engine remains ready for a quick restart, so when you release the brake pedal, the engine restarts almost instantly. To temporarily deactivate it, we need to press the "I-stop off" switch located to the right of the steering wheel, which will illuminate to remind us that the function is deactivated.
