Operation: How to replace the power steering pump on a Volkswagen Polo or Lupo 1.0

To replace the power steering pump on a Volkswagen Polo (or Lupo) you must first lift the car safely. So don't trust your jack, but support it with supports. Then remove the right front wheel and mudguard. In the video the pump was broken and the pulley had come off the shaft. We remove the belt and unscrew the four screws that hold the pump. With a 17 and a 22 wrench, we unscrew the connections and extract the pump. We remove the auction. We replace the pump, we stop it with its 4 bolts. Now we reposition the rod, held in place by its three screws. We position the new pulley paying attention to the direction of rotation and to the fact that it is taut in its path, working on the belt tensioner. We put the mudguard and the front right wheel back in place. We put the car back on the ground and top up the power steering oil. At this point, with the car running, we make rapid turns of the steering wheel to the right and to the left; let's see if there is still a need for more oil in the power steering. In the video a revision is made, but following the same operations, you can change the piece. The work is done.
