What does the P / S warning light indicate in the Citroen C1?

In the Citroen C1, the warning light indicating the word P / S indicates a failure in the power steering or in the control unit that controls it. This is a recurring problem in first generation C1s and the causes can be different: a blown fuse, water infiltration, damage to the electrical connections of the system or failure of the control unit itself. In the latter case, unfortunately, the repair cost is high, around 700 Euros.
