Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaning

The mass air flow sensor (commonly known as the MAF sensor) plays a crucial role in the proper air-fuel mixture, so its correct operation is absolutely important. This sensor tends to get dirty, especially if a performance air filter has been installed: the oil sprayed on the filter to trap impurities can actually contaminate the sensor. The sensor is located on the intake duct, just behind the filter housing: simply disconnect the connector and unscrew the clamps that secure the MAF sensor to the hose. At this point, clean the MAF sensor with a specialized spray (isopropyl alcohol can also be used): do not use solvents or other aggressive products that could damage the sensor itself. After cleaning, reassemble everything.
