The guide shows how to replace the deflated wheel with the spare one on the Jeep Cherokee. The user manual and maintenance manual explain the procedure in detail, including the position of the tools and the lifting points of the vehicle. The first step is to secure the vehicle and, if on the road, use the signaling devices as stated in the Traffic Code. At this point, it is possible to take the jack and the spare wheel. Depending on the model of the car, these two elements may have slightly different positions; however, they are placed in the trunk. The spare wheel can be placed under the rear compartment protection panel and the extraction is the same as in other cars, or it can be placed under the chassis. In this latter position, it is necessary to lower it using the screw located at the bottom of the trunk. Now it is possible to extract the wheel from under the vehicle and prepare to replace it. The bolts of the damaged wheel must be loosened and the car must be lifted at the predetermined points. The bolts of the wheel can be completely unscrewed and replaced with the new one. The bolts are tightened until they are securely fastened but not completely; the car is lowered and the bolts are tightened in a cross pattern. The use of the spare wheel is limited only to the journey to the specialized center to remount the original wheel, and it is not recommended to exceed a certain threshold speed indicated on the spare wheel rim.
