The coil is one of the essential elements of the car, as it raises the voltage from the 12 volts of the battery to the thousands of volts required by the spark plug to ignite the spark. Its task is therefore to alternate the order of the ignition of the air/fuel mixture and to regulate the spark of the spark plugs. One of the symptoms of a malfunctioning coil is the jerky movement of the car. The following guide shows how to solve the problem and change the coil by yourself. To remove the old coil, lift the hood and open the plastic grille by manipulating the two side fasteners with the help of a screwdriver. It is necessary to remove the vapor recovery tube by also disconnecting the connector with the yellow lever. At this point, the ignition control module connector should be removed and the two locking bolts should be unscrewed with a ratchet wrench. Once the operation is finished, a test of correct functioning should be performed.

Demontăm panoul ușii (față dreapta) de pe un Mini: deconectăm clemele bateriei din compartimentul motor (dacă trebuie să deconectăm clemele), cu o pârghie scoatem plasticurile de pe spațiul pârghiei superioare a ușii și șuruburile din mâner (dacă există). Scoatem ornamentele de lângă geam, desurubăm șuruburile rămase de pe panoul ușii și deconectăm clemele de fixare ale acestuia. În final, desprindem panoul cu mâinile și îl scoatem de pe ușă (deconectăm cablajele de alimentare și cablul de deschidere).
