Demontarea airbagului și a modulului CIM

The AIRBAG container is attached to the steering wheel through springs: in order to remove it, you need to try to release the springs. Behind the wheel, at the spokes, there are access holes to the airbag fastening springs: you need to try to hook the springs and press them towards the center of the wheel to release them. To do this, it is suggested to bend the tip of a fixed screwdriver by 90° for about 5 cm so that it can be inserted into the hole and pressed towards the center to release the spring; furthermore, once one spring is released, place a contrasting screwdriver between the AIRBAG and the wheel to prevent it from reattaching while trying to release the other spring. Once both springs are released, pull the AIRBAG to extract it from its housing and disconnect the steering wheel control connections to completely remove it. To remove the steering wheel, release the steering lock, unscrew the fixing pin, return the wheel to the center position and remove it. Finally, to remove the CIM (Column IntEGRated Module), release the frame of the leather cover located just behind the module and pull it forward to release it from the steering column; then disconnect the connected socket and secure the opposing ring with adhesive tape to prevent accidental rotations that could damage it. It is also possible to release the control levers.
