Raise the car on a lifting platform and remove the wheel corresponding to the suspension that needs to be worked on. Open the front hood and, after lubricating with a special spray, loosen (with a 13mm socket wrench) the four fixing nuts of the shock absorber support (consisting of a damper and a spring). Before continuing with the suspension disassembly, it is recommended to remove the caliper and brake disc for greater maneuverability. With a 17mm socket wrench, loosen the fastening nut of the link rod to the shock absorber and then, by locking the pin of the link rod head with a 6mm hex wrench, complete the removal of the 17mm nut with a star wrench. At this point, with a 19mm socket wrench, remove the shock absorber fixing pins from the hub support, extract the pins and then remove the shock absorber. If the damper or support needs to be replaced, compress the spring with special clamps, remove the central nut at the top of the damper piston and extract the plate (or support); insert the spring onto the new damper, reposition the support, tighten the nut and loosen the clamps to reposition the spring. Proceed with the assembly of the shock absorber by inserting the 4 captive pins of the support into the appropriate holes in the bodywork and tightening the respective locking nuts. Reassemble the 2 shock absorber fixing pins to the hub support and adequately tighten the two 19mm nuts and then the 4 13mm nuts of the support. Install the link rod (to tighten the 17mm nut, always lock the pin of the head with the 6mm hex wrench). Finally, reassemble the brake disc and caliper and then the wheel.
