The first thing to do when we want to perform a maintenance operation on any car is always to reduce the risk for the operator. Therefore, even for the battery replacement in the BMW Serie 1, we should make sure that the car is well immobilized, that is, securely and stably placed on a flat surface or on a lift. Once this is done, we locate the battery position (which, in our case, is located in the rear trunk, below the panel that forms the trunk floor) and, using the appropriate key, disconnect the negative terminal cable. Now, we unscrew the various bolts that hold the battery in place (as seen in the pictures). We disconnect the positive terminal cable, remove the black plate above the battery, and finally, remove the battery from its position. To install the new battery, there are no pictures, but it is enough to perform the operations seen, but of course, in reverse order.
