Both the braking system and the vehicle's discs are of primary importance to ensure that the vehicle itself is operating at maximum efficiency, for the safety of both the driver and the passengers. This procedure can also be done independently and without the need for a mechanic, but it is absolutely necessary to have a good amount of dexterity to achieve an excellent result. First of all, the steering wheel must be turned to one side so that the caliper of the disc is facing towards oneself. Lift the car with the jack and remove the wheel after removing the wheel bolts. Take a hex key and unscrew all the bolts on the rear side that hold the caliper to the frame. Then place the car on a flat surface and engage the gear to lock the front wheels. Afterwards, it will be possible to remove the brake caliper. At this point, only the caliper bracket with the brake pads inside will remain. Remove these using an appropriate flathead screwdriver, being careful not to damage the disc. Then unscrew the bolts that hold the bracket securely to the hub. Set them aside, as they will be useful for the reassembly phase. At this point, only the brake disc will remain, which will need to be replaced.
