Assuming that the faulty luggage door locking system is due to damage to the driving motor, the first step is to remove the electric lock from the rear door in order to disassemble it. Once the lock is removed, release the plastic cover fastening tabs and remove it. At this point, it is possible to see the mechanism of the electric lock, consisting of the motor that drives a worm gear that in turn drives a gear wheel that, through a cam, operates the opening system (the microswitch that signals the open or closed condition can also be noted). Before removing the plastic support that houses the opening mechanism, close the lock by activating the latch and rotate the gear wheel until the edge of the cam coincides with that of the motor (this will serve as a reference for reassembly). Now it is possible to release the plastic support of the mechanism from the metal one, being careful not to let the lever mechanism actuation spring jump out. Proceed by removing the gear wheel and the motor: the repair will consist mainly in transferring the worm gear from the damaged motor to the new one: it is indeed possible to buy the new motor in any electronics store, but attention must be paid to the position of the power poles and the diameter of the shaft, which must be 2mm. It should be noted that the overall length of the motor complete with worm gear is 59mm and that the part of the shaft that protrudes from the worm gear itself is 4mm. Now it is necessary to cut the shaft of the damaged motor from the base of the worm gear and extract it from its interior (using perhaps the part of the shaft that protrudes from the motor as a punch). The shaft just extracted must be inserted and fixed with loctite in the worm gear, taking care to make it protrude by 4mm. Finally, always with loctite, fix the other end of the worm gear on the shaft of the new motor, verifying that the overall length of the assembly is still 59mm and ensuring that everything is securely fixed. The electric lock can be reassembled by repositioning the motor and then the gear wheel in the plastic support, aligning the edge of the cam with that of the motor as in disassembly. Reattach the plastic support to the metal one, properly repositioning the spring. Rotate the gear wheel counterclockwise, thus opening the lock and bringing the cam to the end of its travel. Repeat the closing and opening operation and, after verifying correct operation, reattach the cover of the electric lock.
