In older designed engines, the spark plug was an electromechanical device used to generate the spark for igniting the fuel charge inside the combustion chambers of gasoline engines; this system was used before the introduction of electronic control units. The evolution of the spark plug is the electronic spark plug, where instead of using points to determine the position of the crankshaft, an electronic contact is used, which, instead of discharging the primary coil, controls a transistor or a small electronic switch that in turn discharges the primary coil: in this way, the spark is eliminated and a faster switching is achieved, with the formation of more powerful sparks on the spark plugs. Replacing this component is very simple to do, as you just need to remove the cover from the top of the engine, disconnect the electronic spark plug with the spark plug wires, and unscrew the respective fastening screws to remove the old one and install the new one.
