In order to remove the ignition lock from the Volkswagen Golf 5, the plastics located in the lower and upper part of the steering column must be disengaged. Next, the front airbag will have to be removed to gain access to the nut on the steering shaft, which will need to be loosened with a socket wrench. This will allow you to remove the steering wheel and subsequently also allow the removal of the direction indicators, obviously after having loosened the appropriate screws. At this point it will also be possible to unscrew the bolts that secure the ignition lock, removing it and replacing it with a new spare part.
