In the new generation cars, the mechanical inertial switch is no longer present, but the deactivation of the fuel supply takes place electronically, through the logic called FPS ("Fire Prevention System") which therefore causes the engine to stop: - in the presence in the event of an impact of a certain severity, the Airbag Control Unit sends the activation signal for the interruption of the fuel supply called FPS (Fire Prevention System) over the CAN network; - the signal is received by the Body Computer which activates the emergency lights (4 arrows), turns on the interior ceiling lights, activates the unlocking of the doors (central locking) and transmits the impact on the CAN network; - the message indicating the intervention of the â € œFuel Cut Offâ € FPS ON function appears on the instrument panel and the engine control unit stops the operation of the electro-injectors.
