What problems does the diesel pump have on the Fiat DoblÃ² 1.9 diesel?

The symptoms that can make us understand that our Fiat DoblÃ² 1.9 diesel has a broken fuel pump are quite easy to identify: first of all there is a strong smell of diesel in the passenger compartment; consequently the car is slower and loses bumps in acceleration; there are strange noises coming from the engine and in any case the car has problems with ignition. Of course, if we experience these symptoms and it means that the pump is broken, the solution is just to change it. But we can also change some of our habits to prevent it from repeating itself with the same frequency. For example, we avoid always traveling in reserve. It would be better to travel with the tank at least half full, as there is a danger of the pump overheating. Then the diesel, especially if we use the low-cost one, can be of low quality or contain water. Then it would be a good idea to add an additive to the diesel, which keeps it clean, or to use good quality diesel, even at the cost of paying a few cents more.
