Descriptive guide for replacing the engine oil and oil filter on a Suzuki SFV 650 from 2009 to 2015. Obtain 3 litres of Suzuki 4T SAE 10W40 oil and a K&N KN-138 oil filter. Position the bike on its side stand. Start the engine, allow it to reach temperature, and then turn it off. Place a container for the used oil under the engine. Using a ratchet and a 17mm socket, unscrew the engine oil drain plug located under the engine on the left side. Allow the oil to drain and clean the magnetic plug thoroughly. Using an oil filter wrench, unscrew the oil filter located in front of the engine. Lubricate the seal of the new filter with oil and screw it on by hand. Then tighten it by a turn with the oil filter wrench. Screw the oil drain plug back in. Unscrew the oil filler cap located on the engine casing on the right side. Pour in 2.5 litres of oil using a small funnel. Start the engine for 5 minutes and then turn it off. Check the oil level through the inspection hole located below the filler cap. If necessary, add oil until it reaches the maximum level.
