Descriptive guide for replacing the engine oil and oil filter of a Suzuki SFV 650 from 2009 to 2015. Get 3LT of Suzuki 4t sae 10w40 oil, a K&N KN-138 oil filter. Place the motorcycle on the side stand. Start the engine, allow the engine to reach temperature and stop. Place a container for the recovery of the oil to be disposed of under the engine. With a ratchet and a 17mm socket unscrew the engine oil drain plug, located under the engine, left side. Let the oil drain and carefully clean the magnetic plug. With a band wrench, unscrew the oil filter located in front of the engine. Wet the gasket of the new filter with oil and screw it with your hands. Then tighten one turn with the band wrench. Screw in the oil drain plug. Unscrew the oil filler cap located on the engine crankcase, right side. Pour 2.5lt of oil with the help of a small funnel. Run for 5 minutes and then turn off. Check the oil level from the inspection hole located at the bottom of the filler cap. If necessary, add oil up to the maximum level.
