What does the PGM-FI error mean on the Honda CR-V?

The mysterious abbreviation PGM-FI, in addition to indicating a generic engine fault, very often means that the engine has not been able to properly regenerate the unburned diesel. Or, even though the regeneration has taken place, it is not detected by the control unit, which continues to request it. In this case, which almost always occurs in stop & go conditions or at moderate speed, the best thing is to have the car do a "pull" at 2500rpm in order to burn all the unburned. If the problem recurs then all that remains is the authorized workshop.
