The spare wheel of the Smart (when present) is normally located in the special compartment inside the rear boot, covered by a removable rigid floor. As a matter of space saving, however, it may happen that instead of the spare wheel either an anti-tire kit for emergency repairs or a more practical wheel that allows the car a maximum distance of one thousand km before proceeding to its replacement required. The manufacturer's choice of one or the other solution varies according to the model or year of production of the Smart.
