Where is the starter motor located on my Smart 453?

The starter motor on your Smart 453 is positioned exactly under the intake manifold. To reach it you have to remove the muffler and water pipes from the frame, remove the alternator and if it has an automatic gearbox, also the gear ropes. Subsequently, after removing the intake manifold, you can also remove the starter motor.
