Removing the Starter Motor from a Smart Fortwo

Is the starter motor not working? Here’s how to remove the starter motor from the Smart Fortwo. Disconnect the battery terminals for safety. Lift the car on a jack, use a socket spanner to undo the securing bolts of the starter motor and remove it from the engine bay. Fit the new starter motor by connecting the power cables and securing it with the associated bolts. Once fitted, lower the car and reconnect the electrical terminals. Get into the Smart's cabin and test the new starter motor.
