It's a real shame that it has been damaged and faded. Here's how to restore it. First, use steel wool - yes, the kind used in the '60s to clean aluminum pots - to clean it. Then, spray it with a semi-gloss clear paint. Let it dry well, and then, with a steady hand, use a fine brush and glossy black paint to touch up all the faded areas that highlight the lettering. Don't worry if your hand isn't steady enough and you make smudges. We'll fix that in the next step. Let it dry thoroughly. With some leftover steel wool, gently rub over the lettering to remove any mistakes you made during painting; they will come off easily. Now you can reattach your logo in its place.
