Energy chain for sliding door: how to install it yourself on the Mercedes Sprinter.

On the Mercedes Sprinter, the installation of the energy chain on the sliding door serves to guide the cables (e.g., compartment light, central locking, sensors) along the entire travel without pinching. The path and usable length are defined by measuring the door's travel; then, the mounting points on the pillar and the door are prepared. The first end is anchored with a bracket, respecting the direction of curvature of the chain and the minimum radius; the wiring is inserted inside (neatly and spaced) and the second end is fixed to the door, ensuring that the arc of movement does not interfere with panels and seals. A sliding test is performed by fully opening and closing the door: the chain should move smoothly, without tension points on the cables. Upon closing, protection and cable clamps are added, the passages are finished with rubber grommets/cable pass-throughs, and any removed coverings are restored.
