Below are the main instructions on how to remove and replace the battery on a Mini Cooper S. First, open the vehicle's bonnet and begin by removing the air filter box by disconnecting the intake hose; remove the upper cover located at the top right to access the battery. At this point, unscrew the bracket screw at the bottom using a socket wrench with an extension; disconnect both terminals (positive and negative) to remove the battery from its compartment. Install the new battery with the same amperage.
