In order to replace the gear knob of the Peugeot 307, you need to lower the leather covering at the base of the lever: under this covering, you will find the hook that connects the knob to the corresponding lever. This way, you can detach this hook and remove the old knob from the end of the lever: the new one can then be positioned and fixed again with the hook. You can then reposition the leather covering of the lever and ensure that the new knob does not cause any issues during gear changes.
