How do you replace the gear knob of the Peugeot 307?

To replace the gear knob of the Peugeot 307, you need to pry with an object like a screwdriver in order to detach the hooks at the base of the leather cover: once these hooks have been removed, you can lift the leather boot and disconnect the hook underneath that connects the knob to the cover. At this point, you will need to grab the old knob and turn it counterclockwise to remove it: the new one can be positioned by fixing it on the lever. Then, it will need to be fixed to the leather boot, repositioning it as well.
