When to change the Piaggio Quargo timing belt

Long ago, manufacturers used so-called â € œ noisy beltsâ € which warned the driver of their excessive wear. Unfortunately, those of today do not issue warnings: for this reason their duration is indicated in the maintenance booklet in kilometers or years. Establishing general parameters, we can say that the belt should be replaced: Between 100,000 and 180,000 km traveled. After 5 or 6 years of use. There are many reasons that can cause a belt to wear out and break if it is not subjected to regular checks (approximately every 30,000 km) and to be replaced according to the times prescribed by the parent company: The presence of foreign bodies that tend abnormally. Incorrect alignment of the pulleys. Wear of one or both of the belt tensioner bearings. Excessive engine temperature. The compromised integrity of the pulleys. Excessive mileage.
