The Hyundai IX35s fitted with the 1.7 engine have the timing belt replacement interval every 120,000 km or every 6 years. While the IX35s fitted with 2.0 engines use the chain instead of the belt. For this reason, on these latest models the interval extends to 300,000 km; nevertheless it is advisable to have a periodic check carried out by a trusted mechanic.
