Why did all the lights in the Smart ForTwo come on?

If all the warning lights remain on in the Smart ForTwo after starting the engine, there is most likely a fault in the control unit located together with the fuses, known as SAM. This unit can be damaged due to too much water infiltration, the only remedy is to replace it at a price of about 500 Euros in case of a new spare.
