If the cigarette lighter socket of our Volkswagen Golf has suddenly stopped working it is most likely that it is the fault of the relevant fuse. It is located in the box located behind the bulkhead of the dashboard, on the driver's side, and is labeled with the initials F42. If faulty, make sure to replace it with a spare of the same specification, i.e. 20A.
