How to replace the cigarette lighter socket of the Volkswagen Golf

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Cigarette lighter

Today we will discover the instructions that will allow us to disassemble and replace the cigarette lighter and its socket in the Volkswagen Golf. First of all, we get into the car and start by disassembling and removing the cigarette lighter console, then disconnecting the electrical connector found underneath; we then remove the cigarette lighter from the ashtray, as shown in the video. At this point, we proceed to replace the cigarette lighter and the socket, if not working; we reassemble the ashtray and the new socket (in this case a 12V socket with USB port is installed), checking its functionality.
