How to disassemble the Volkswagen Golf cigarette lighter

This short and simple guide will show us the steps on how to disassemble and replace the cigarette lighter socket of the Volkswagen Golf. First of all, we get into the car and start by disconnecting and removing the plastic cover of the ashtray, consequently removing the cigarette lighter socket as well (disconnecting the electrical connector found underneath), as shown in the video. At this point, if necessary, we replace the cigarette lighter socket with a 12V one, then reassemble the socket onto the attachment; finally, we reassemble the ashtray, following the reverse procedure of disassembly!
