If the cigarette lighter in your Volkswagen Golf has suddenly stopped working, first check the status of the corresponding fuse, the location of which is indicated in this video. As shown, the fuse is located in the box inside the cabin, behind the left side panel of the dashboard on the driver's side.

It is a 20A fuse and is the second from the right when looking at the box from the front. If faulty, ensure you use a replacement with equivalent specifications and work with the vehicle turned off to avoid causing any damage.
