Open the flap and remove the internal plastic cover by unclipping the clips that hold the black cover to the rubber seal. Remove the fuel cap, unscrew the mechanism, and pull the entire lock out of the housing. The old pin will likely be broken and stuck inside the mechanism. The pin is held by two plastic tabs; gently break them and then pull the pin out with your fingers. Clean the seat, insert the new pin, ensuring its end passes through the spring. Before reassembling everything, ensure the pin moves correctly; re-screw the screws, reattach the rubber seal, and replace the fuel cap.
