Today, you will learn how to replace the gear knob on an Alfa Romeo 146. To remove the knob, rotate the top part counterclockwise. For the bottom part, use WD40 spray for lubrication and a pair of pliers.

After removing the bottom part of the knob, clean with degreaser to remove any oil residue. If necessary, replace the gear spring.

Otherwise, refit the knob by inserting it into the mechanism and pushing down. First, apply lubricant inside to help the knob slide better into the mechanism.

Once the knob is inserted, move the gear lever through the gears to test its operation.
