To change the motor oil of a BMW R9T, follow these steps. Make sure the engine is warm but not too hot. Place the motorcycle on a flat surface and lift the front using a motorcycle stand. Remove the oil cap from the motor oil tank. Place a collection container under the oil drain plug, usually located on the lower side of the engine. Unscrew the oil drain plug and let the old oil drain completely into the container. Once drained, screw the oil drain plug back in. Remove the oil filter with an oil filter wrench. Clean the filter mounting surface well and apply some new oil on the gasket of the new filter. Install the new oil filter. At this point, fill the engine with new oil, and the replacement will be complete.
