To replace the timing chain on the BMW 1150 GS, you need to completely disassemble the engine, removing it from its housing after unscrewing the mounting bolts and disconnecting various connectors. After removal, you can open the cover that protects the timing chain by removing the screws and the corresponding cover: then, by unscrewing the bolts that secure the central pins of the sprockets around which the chain is arranged, you can completely slide out the old chain and replace it with a new one. After replacement, reassemble all previously removed components.
