How to replace the BMW R1200 GS LC clutch

The guide shows how to replace the clutch on the BMW R1200 GS LC. After having secured the motorcycle, it is necessary to remove the engine protection plate from the bottom of the motorcycle. Unscrew the engine oil drain plug with a 10 mm wrench and drain the fluid into a container for disposal. Remove the transmission protection cover by unscrewing the bolts; it will be necessary to access from the fork to unscrew the two bolts located on the top of the cover. With a 10 mm spanner, unscrew the three clutch bolts and remove the cover. Using a small screwdriver and a magnet, extract the clutch rings. Lubricate the new clutch rings and install them, in the correct order, in place. Refit the clutch cover. Clean edges of transmission cover and apply sealant. Put everything back in place. Refit the engine protective plate and top up with oil.

The Piaggio MP3 engine oil change is carried out by unscrewing the oil drain plug which is positioned in the lower part of the bike, immediately in front of the rear wheel. Once the cap has been opened, it will be possible to let the used oil flow into a suitably positioned container. Next to the drain plug there will be the oil filter, which must be extracted from its seat and replaced with a new spare part. After the replacement, it will also be possible to close the drain plug and top up from the special vent.
