Engine oil change on Harley Davidson Sportster

For this motorcycle it is recommended to use Harley Davidson brand lubricant 20W-50. Turn on the bike for a few minutes in order to heat the oil which will become more liquid and will come out more easily. Unscrew the screw that holds the tube of the drain hole of the engine oil compartment fixed, then remove the cap of the same and collect the used oil in a tray. It is advisable to immediately free the upper filling hole as well (simply unscrew the cap) to avoid vacuum packing and once again favor casting. Close the drain tube and reposition it in its seat, insert the new lubricant from the upper hole and close this as well.

How does the multi-disc clutch of motorcycles work?

In this video we see how the multi-disc clutch of motorcycles works, composed of a series of "driven" discs mounted on a hub; the surface of the discs has a high coefficient of friction (sintered bronze, graphite, etc.). Alternating with these are the "driving" steel fingers. All are fitted into the so-called "bell" and rotate together, pressed by four helical springs and push on a plate which in turn presses on the disc pack. By pushing on the plate and on the helical springs from the opposite side, we will cancel the pressure on the discs through the pushrod, connected to the lever that the motorcyclist uses to disconnect the transmission from the engine. Power is transmitted from the engine to the gearbox only if the discs are engaged.
