To replace the battery on the Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 883, loosen the screws that secure the seat so it can be removed. This will allow you to detach the side plastic cover located on the left side of the bike, under which the battery is found. The battery can be extracted from its housing by disconnecting all the appropriate terminals and unscrewing the securing bolts. The new battery can then be inserted into its housing, connected, and secured so that the side cover and seat can be reattached.
