To change the oil of a Harley Davidson Shovelhead, start by warming up the engine for a few minutes to make the oil more fluid and facilitate drainage. Park the motorcycle on a flat and stable surface and turn off the engine. Place a container for collecting the oil under the drain plug of the crankcase. Use a wrench to loosen the drain plug and let the old oil drain completely. Once the oil has drained, clean the drain plug and washer, then put the plug back in place and tighten it carefully. Remove the oil tank cap and use a funnel to slowly pour the new oil into the tank, making sure to use the type and quantity specified in the owner's manual. After adding the oil, replace the oil tank cap and start the engine for a few minutes to circulate the new oil. Turn off the engine and check the oil level, adding more if necessary. Check for any leaks around the drain plug before resuming riding.
