How do you replace the glove compartment drawer of the Mercedes C-Class?

In order to replace the glove compartment of the Mercedes C-Class, you need to open it so that you can locate the screws that secure the compartment from inside its housing. Once these screws have been loosened, you can lower the compartment completely and remove it from its housing. In this way, you can insert the new compartment and secure it with the appropriate screws to be inserted inside its housing; once properly secured, you can check that it opens and closes correctly and that it is securely attached to its housing.
