How to Remove the Centre Tunnel

Model: Mercedes CL C215 - Years 1999-2006
Part: Center console tunnel

Gently unscrew the gear knob to remove it from the metal shaft. Lever it out sideways to remove the square panel covering the gear lever, taking care to also disconnect the corresponding yellow connector. Now open the ashtray and unscrew the two screws that allow you to remove it along with the connector. Next, unscrew two screws located horizontally at the bottom of the tunnel in the now free area. Detach the side upholstery from the centre tunnel; you will now see two screws securing the tunnel to the dashboard; unscrew them and proceed to lift the centre tunnel.
