How to Remove the Rear Light from the Opel/Vauxhall Grandland-X

To remove the rear light on the Grandland X (2017-2024), open the boot and locate the access cover on the side corresponding to the light to be removed. Pry off the cover.

Inside, there is a 10 mm fixing nut: unscrew it with a deep socket or a tube spanner. Be careful not to drop it into the bodywork; it's better to place a cloth underneath.

Once the nut is removed, there is a retaining clip to unclip. This is the tricky part: it is not the plastic tab next to the nut as it appears in the manual diagrams, but is located slightly below the nut's fixing.

Push it down to release the lock. At this point, gently pull the light outwards, wiggling it slightly.

Sometimes it can be a bit stiff to remove, especially if it has never been taken off. Once the light is out, disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab. For reassembly, follow the reverse order.
