To replace the gear knob on a Peugeot vehicle, first remove the base of the gear gaiter using a flathead screwdriver to push out the base without damaging the plastic clips. After lifting the gear gaiter, avoid the screw on the internal metal clip or cut the clip if it is plastic.

Once the clip is removed, pull the knob outwards to remove it. The installation follows the reverse procedure. Push the knob onto the gear mechanism and secure it with the plastic or metal clip.

Insert the gear gaiter back into the lower dashboard.
