In this video, we are explained how the tilt lock of the Piaggio MP3 530 works. The Tilt Lock System (this is the name of the function) is an exclusive safety feature of the Piaggio MP3 scooter, which allows to lock the lateral tilting system when the vehicle is stopped. In practice, it locks the front wheels in a vertical position, preventing the scooter from tilting when parked, thus eliminating the need for a side stand. It prevents accidental falls when getting on or off, or when loading weights. It is also useful uphill, downhill, or on uneven terrain. It activates automatically below 5 km/h, or manually (depending on the model). It works with sensors that detect speed and tilt angle, and a hydraulic system locks the movement of the front suspensions; only Piaggio has this system among 3-wheeled scooters.
