This guide shows how to replace the water pump on the Vespa GTS 250. The pump is located on the right side, at the end of the scooter's lower body. To start, remove the right side plastic panel by unscrewing the two screws at the beginning and end. By detaching the metal clips on the water hoses, you can allow the coolant to flow out. At this point, unscrew the three screws securing the metal plate of the pump; as they are very tight, it is advisable to use an impact screwdriver to avoid stripping the screws. By unscrewing the cap of the water reservoir, located on the right front of the engine, you can drain all the fluid present. To gain more working space, you need to lower the engine; from the compartment under the seat, proceed to remove some parts. Detach the front hose and some clips; disconnect the stator cables. Unscrew the fixing screw of the air filter box on the left side, allowing you to unscrew the bolt of the rear shock absorber. Now you can detach the stator cover and replace the pump's fan shaft. This part can be found online already assembled. Now you can reassemble the stator and the gasket on the engine. At this point, you can reassemble the pump. By following the steps in reverse, you can reassemble the disassembled parts. The operation is now complete.
