How to replace the water pump on the Vespa GTS 250

The guide shows replacing the water pump on the Vespa GTS 250. The pump is located on the right side, at the end of the lower body of the scooter. To begin it is necessary to remove the right side plastic bulkhead by unscrewing the two screws at the beginning and at the end. By detaching the metal clips on the water sleeves it is possible to let the cooling water flow. At this point it is possible to unscrew the three fixing screws of the metal plate of the pump; being very tight it is advisable to use an impact screwdriver to avoid stripping the screws. By unscrewing the cap of the water tank, located on the right of the front of the motor, it will be possible to drain all the fluid present. In order to have more work space it is necessary to lower the motor; from the compartment in the saddle, we proceed with the disassembly of some parts. It is necessary to remove the front sleeve and some clamps; the stator cables must be disconnected. You have to unscrew the fixing screw of the air filter box on the left side, so you can unscrew the bolt of the rear shock absorber. Now it is possible to remove the stator cover and replace the rotation axis of the pump fan. This piece can be found on the internet already assembled. The stator and gasket can now be reassembled on the engine. At this point it is possible to reassemble the pump. By following the steps backwards it is possible to reassemble the disassembled pieces. At this point the operation is finished.
